Theatre Nohgaku was founded by Richard Emmert, director of the Noh Training Project based in Tokyo and Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and a group of English speaking performers trained in the demanding techniques of noh. This company creates and performs English language noh, both new works and traditional noh in translation, and occasionally performs traditional noh in Japanese or a combination of Japanese and English. |
