Living in Japan

Taking the driving test for foreigners in Makuhari, Japan.

Written by me, myself, and I

In the summer of 2003, I decided that I should finally get my Japanese Driver's License. There is a new law that limits the time you may use an International License to one year (unless you go home and stay there for at least three full months). This article tells you how to survive the bureaucrats while somehow keeping your sanity, and also has some information about the test. This is probably of most use to Chiba Residents since it is about the test in Makuhari, with a map of the course. Click here for the full scoop.

Spring Walk in Tokyo

Written by me, myself, and I

Spring is the best time to visit Japan because the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Seeing the blossoms in the old temples and watching the people look at the blossoms is a great experience. This article is tells you how to walk from Yasukuni Jinja (Yes, that shrine) to Omotesando through the Imperial Gardens. It is a great walk that I recommend.
